In Pain? Can the Use of Painkillers Worsen Your ED?

Aches, pains…? Everyone, especially when it comes to those of us in the “aging” population, experiences pain from time to time. But using painkillers can be detrimental in more ways than you might think. Middle-aged men who report using NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs) on a regular basis (once or more a week to once or more a day) were more likely to report problems with ED than those who do not use these medications on a regular basis. So before reaching for Ibuprofen (Motrin, Advil) or Naproxen (Aleve, Anaprox), think twice. Ask yourself these questions: What is the basis of my pain? Are there other alternative ways to relieve the pain? Check out this article on WebMD about the issues associated with pain killers and ED: http://www.webmd.com/erectile-dysfunction/news/20110303/regular-use-of-painkillers-linked-to-ed Also, remember that there are many, many alternatives to pain control that are available in our country. With more and more insurance companies paying for preventative therapies and alternative therapies like Chiropractic care, massage therapy, physical therapy, acupuncture and mental health counseling, there might just be something out there that fits your needs in much better ways than popping pills.
